CEO Andrew Skafel discusses the real-world application of Edgewater’s Spectrum Slicing technology and provides a sneak peek of its upcoming new WiFi7 product platform
OTTAWA, Canada, November 16, 2022 – Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc. (“Edgewater” or the “Company”) (TSXV: YFI) (OTC: KPIFF), the industry leader in Wi-Fi Spectrum Slicing technology for residential and enterprise markets, announced today that CEO Andrew Skafel recently appeared on Computer America, the United States’ longest running, nationally syndicated talk show about computers and technology.
Skafel joined host Ben Crossman to introduce Edgewater to the Computer America network as the world’s first platform to offer a generational shift in Wi-Fi performance. Skafel discussed the Company’s multi-link/channel silicon solution’s ability to provide Wi-Fi network providers with the flexibility to better engineer the available Wi-Fi spectrum, and deliver ground-breaking connectivity and massively increase capacity and performance for both modern and legacy Wi-Fi devices in residential and enterprise Wi-Fi networks.
The interview can be viewed in its entirety by clicking on the link here.
Edgewater’s multi-link/channel silicon solution has proven superior to the current single-channel architecture used in all of today’s Wi-Fi systems, delivering 50% lower latency and a throughput benefit of 7 to 18 times. Significantly, the benefit of reduced latency and better throughput for Wi-Fi was demonstrated on legacy devices using current WLAN technology, indicating that with its innovative Spectrum Slicing approach, Edgewater can deliver next-generation silicon solutions both for today and the future.
About Edgewater Wireless
We make Wi-Fi. Better.
Edgewater Wireless is the industry leader in innovative Spectrum Slicing technology for residential and commercial markets. We develop advanced Wi-Fi silicon solutions, Access Points, and IP licensing designed to meet service providers’ and their customers’ high-density and high-quality-of-service needs. With 26 granted patents, Edgewater’s Spectrum Slicing technology force multiplies Wi-Fi, delivering next-generation Wi-Fi today.
Edgewater’s physical layer Spectrum Slicing allows a frequency band to be divided, or sliced, to enable more radios to operate in a given area. Think of Spectrum Slicing like moving from a single-lane road to a multi-lane highway — regardless of Wi-Fi technology. The recently completed Proof of Concept (PoC) with a major Tier 1 Service Provider showed 7 to 18 times performance gains in 75% of homes surveyed. Interestingly, homes with the most devices saw the greatest improvements.
