ISED-ISDE program helps entrepreneurs and businesses access the support they need to grow and scale
July 23, 2024 – Ottawa, Canada – Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc. (TSXV: YFI) (OTC: KPIFF), the industry leader in Wi-Fi Spectrum Slicing technology for residential and enterprise markets, is pleased to announce it has been nominated to participate in the Accelerated Growth Service (AGS) program by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED-ISDE). AGS offers support to a number of high-growth, high-potential, qualifying businesses across Canada.
“We are thrilled to have been selected to participate in ISED’s Accelerated Growth Service program. Accessing the AGS network helps high-growth Canadian semiconductor companies like Edgewater accelerate global growth while creating Canadian jobs,” said Andrew Skafel, President and CEO of Edgewater Wireless. “Tapping the network of industry experts will allow us to leverage the growing North American and Canadian semiconductor ecosystem to unlock our global potential. We are delighted that our government advisors have recognized the value of Edgewater’s strategic growth plans, and look forward to engaging with AGS’ network of industry experts.”
As part of the program, Edgewater may gain access to key government support such as R&D funding, advisory services, financing assistance, and global partnership and export opportunities. The AGS program will also provide Edgewater with a personalized team of government experts to support the company’s growth plans and help identify new government programs that could help Edgewater capture near and long-term business opportunities. Accessing federal and provincial funding and development programs will allow Edgewater to amplify innovation and growth investments.
Edgewater’s cutting-edge Wi-Fi Spectrum Slicing approach is the first technology to enable multiple, in-band concurrent links (or channels) within a given coverage area using standards-compliant Wi-Fi. Using advanced signal processing techniques, Spectrum Slicing is proven to deliver dramatically lower latency (50% or more) and 7 to 18 times performance gains over legacy, single-channel Wi-Fi architectures — for existing and new devices.
With Edgewater’s Wi-Fi Spectrum Slicing, Service Providers and vendors are no longer forced to replace all existing devices, such as WiFi4/5/6, on the network to benefit from the evolving Wi-Fi 7 standard. In other words, the 20+ Billion existing Wi-Fi devices, such as TVs, smartphones and gaming consoles, do not need to be replaced to realize the gains associated with Spectrum Slicing plus newest devices to benefit from the latest WiFi7 standard.

Edgewater’s physical layer Spectrum Slicing allows a frequency band to be divided, or sliced, to enable more radios to operate in a given area. Think of Spectrum Slicing like moving from a single-lane road to a multi-lane highway — regardless of Wi-Fi technology. The recently completed Proof of Concept (PoC) with a major Tier 1 Service Provider showed 7 to 18 times performance gains in 75% of homes surveyed. Interestingly, homes with the most devices saw the greatest improvements.
