Channel Association (PHY) Rate Control
Available in any Wi-Fi band, PowerZoning™ maximizes network quality of service by separating traffic based on the requested PHY rate from a device. The access point either accepts or rejects the device request and then distributes devices across separate physical (PHY) channels based on the PHY rate negotiated. Effectively, it is like having a speed limit on each channel, and only the devices that can go the proper speed can associate to the channel. This way, fast devices are allocated to the fastest channel, while slower devices (like IoT devices or devices at distance) can be allocated to the slower channels.
PowerZoning™ maximizes channel density in a given coverage area reducing contention to allow latency sensitive applications like VoIP handoff (roaming) Video and Gaming to have the highest quality of service possible.
